Arne Jacobsen relied on the cylinda shape to express object function by varying the height and width of objects. Originally released in 1969, the CYLINDA Line has won awards from the Danish Society of Industrial Design and the American Institute of Interior Designers. New machines and welding techniques were developed to meet Jacobsen's requirements for seamless tubes.
